Context

Lumentender is a cloud-based web and mobile application that empowers building owners and property managers to securely schedule, monitor, control and optimize their lighting displays from anywhere. Through close collaboration with integration partners and real-world end users, we arrived at a UI that the naive end user finds intuitive. By enabling efficient energy use, Lumentender helps businesses reduce waste, lower costs, and contribute to a more sustainable urban landscape.

Lumentender partnered with The SilverLogic (TSL) to pioneer a first-of-its-kind cloud-based system for scheduling and managing commercial-scale lighting. Designed for ease of use and maximum efficiency, the platform supports multi-site control, automated scheduling, and real-time adjustments, ensuring buildings use light only when and where it’s needed.

TSL has been a strategic partner from day one, driving innovation and growth while helping Lumentender align with the evolving needs of energy-conscious enterprises and leading lighting manufacturers.

High-level capabilities schedule light shows using prioritization rules (e.g. hierarchy of event types; most recently created / updated events take precedence over earlier ones) astronomical scheduling (i.e. schedule for sunrise or sunset per controller’s local time) library of holiday events for scheduling light shows for each country and religion within the application’s target market localization (currently Arabic, w/ flipped right to left layout orientation) we pioneered an approach to testing at scale without having to run hundreds of physical devices, by writing “mock” lighting controller software.
